Adult Ultrasound Trauma Life Support Course by ICCES
The Adult Ultrasound Trauma Life Support Course conducted by International Council for Critical Emergency Sonography was held on the 9th of October 2017, at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, Galle. It was conducted by Professor Aruna Munasinghe, who is a member of the International Council for Critical Care Emergency Sonography and assisted by Dr. Lasith Edirisooriya (MO/A&E Base Hospital, Panadura), Dr. K Manoharan (MO/A&E Base Hospital, Wathupitiwala) and Dr. Sujith Gunathilaka (MO/ETC Teaching Hospital, Karapitiya). Many academic sessions were held on topics such as “ABCDE by Ultrasound: Empowering Trauma Resuscitation, Basics of Ultrasound and how an image is formed, Breathing Assessment, Airway Ultrasound Anatomy and Procedures” etc. and ultrasound hands-on training sessions. Pyramed International Pvt. Ltd. provided ultrasound scanners and
application support for the academic sessions and played a critical part in making this congress a reality.
Dr. Aruna Munasinghe also demonstrated the Sonon Wireless ultrasound system to the participants and also listed out many benefits of this new device. The participants were very keen on using this wireless ultrasound probe which they were new to and requested for demonstrations at their respective hospitals.
